 Ed Puzzle

EDPuzzle is the website or software I shared in class. I played on this website by creating my own account and classroom. I even went ahead and had my friend join into my classroom, and attempt some of the assigned activities.

Here is a breakdown of what services are available through this website.

        • Assigning class or individual work.
        • Interactive participation of direct instruction lessons.
        • Uploading your own lesson content.
        • Grading.
  • Class or Individual Work
      • On the left side there is a tab menu, where you can see, tabs for, "Discover", and "Edpuzzle Originals". These two tabs allow you to explore Ed Puzzle's videos, lessons, and content that are already available via the website. You have the options look by grade, subject, community, country, even a search bar. To which when finding one you want to look at, you can either watch to interact with. Or you can select by clicking a small box on the bottom right corner of all the videos. This allows more access, by giving you the option to edit the lesson, copy (send it to your content tab), or just purely allows you to select multiple and save them to your page. The tabs "My content", "My Network", and "Notifications" are featured on the same side bar menu. These tabs allow you to reach the lessons you have copied, or saved, the network tab allowing you to view other teachers within the school or district you have connected with through your account. Navigating the lessons you have copied in your content page, allows you assign specific lessons to specific classes. Ed puzzle also gives you the tools to organize these lessons into videos, projects or folders. To view your classes, and their assignments there is an "ADD CLASS" tab within the same left side menu. This is where you would sort what classes you are teaching if in high school middle school, or even a specialist in Elementary. Inviting students is easy with a simple button to the top right corner, and share the link it gives you.

  • Interactive Lessons
      • The lessons I interacted with seem to be video based, that incorporate interactive questioning. For example, information is given through videos, then the video comes to the pause to which a question or set of questions is presented and students have the ability to answer. The accessible future with this, is having the ability to present these lessons live, and the ability for students to do it on their own. By doing it live, it has the feel as a long and more educational version of Kahoot. when students are participating individually on their own device, it leans closer to dreambox, or lexia.

  • Uploading Lessons
      • Up in the top right corner near your profile picture is the button to "Add Content". Clicking on this button gives you the options to go to the discover page, upload a video, record a video, or upload an assignment of a student project. Uploading and Recording a video menus are pretty easy to follow. The student project is interesting, it allows you to insert a title/subject, a goal for the project, and instructions. Then it allows you to do a range of when it is available to when it is due. The only downfall with this option is the product of the student is only an option of finding a video from youtube or uploading their own.
  • Grading
      • Within your classes pages, you have assignments, class members, and gradebook as tabs across the top. Which with these you have the ability to manage your work as an educator. You can see how many have attempted or turned in assignments, and even go ahead to grading them. With this its easy access to grades of assignments and editing of them as well.
