Post #8: REFLEX MATH

    In this post I will be discussing the technology Reflex Math, listed on the 30/118 List in Dr. Wang's powerpoint. Below you will find a link you can use to navigate to the software's website.


    This software you have to pay for to use, there was a free trial option, however when I attempted to sign up for one, it took me only to a page with video demos. With that, it seems to be game mode math challenges. Upon trying to log on, it asked you what grades to look at, I chose K-3. The visuals seemed to be really student friendly and engaging. However it seems as though you only get to change the grade, all the activities seem to be preset. Which makes me think it is not ideal for planning, or designing lessons, nor would it be used to inform for a lesson. This website, would only be used for extra practice during the day or at home.

 In this post I will be discussing Blackboard, a technology from Dr. Wang's "Top 15 mentioned technologies in the classroom" List.           Blackboard seems to be very similar to Canvas. I believe this is the website my dad had to use when completing college courses online through the Army. It has your course and ways to sort/filter through them. It has Calendar, Messages, Grades, and a tab for assistance for your use. I played around with all the different tabs, but you also can learn through tutorials. In the grading tab its visually pleasing being organized by the class, then by the assignment. With each showing how many have submitted and have not.           It seems to have generated a fake class for me to try out in the free trial.  In this post I will be discussing Kahoot, a technology listed in many slides, in Dr. Wang's powerpoint. Please use the link below to visit the website.  https://kahoot.com/         The first time I had participated in Kahoot was when I came to Spokane my sophomore year of high school. It was typically used as a brain break towards the end of class, and would be about disney, or any topics we chose. Then some teachers started using it as a review game for upcoming assessments.           Now going to the website it seems that there are a lot of different ways and usage for this website. I was only ever on the student side when using kahoot, so I didn't realize you could log on and create your own.  The customization of your assessments is great for the range of topics you can cover in classes.
