Image
In this post I will be discussing Kahoot, a technology listed in many slides, in Dr. Wang's powerpoint. Please use the link below to visit the website.  https://kahoot.com/         The first time I had participated in Kahoot was when I came to Spokane my sophomore year of high school. It was typically used as a brain break towards the end of class, and would be about disney, or any topics we chose. Then some teachers started using it as a review game for upcoming assessments.           Now going to the website it seems that there are a lot of different ways and usage for this website. I was only ever on the student side when using kahoot, so I didn't realize you could log on and create your own.  The customization of your assessments is great for the range of topics you can cover in classes. It allows teachers to make it personal for their class. It creates a great engaging opportunity for all classes and grades. I could ...

Image
In this post I will be discussing a technology of my own interest, but can also be found in Dr. Wang's list that was only informational. This technology is called Go Guardian, please use the link below to reach the website.  https://www.goguardian.com/     There is no free trial, but there is an option to request a trial. It seems you may need it to get approved or sought out by district, instead of an individual teacher. However it seems the website gives you 3 categories to sign up under, Admin, Teacher, and Beacon. Then it has a quick highlight of things you are able to do within these roles. Refer to the 2nd image for more details.      A lot of the page emphasizes the safety with using this website software. Which I believe is a very important consideration when including technology into teaching and exchange of ideas. I think this software, is perfect for an overlap of frameworks, and events of the teaching process.

Post 10: Go Noodle!

Image
In this post I will be discussing a website that I have used before, and is also found in Dr. Wang's powerpoint. This website is called, Go Noodle!  You may use the link below to reach it.  https://gonoodle.com     The first time I had heard of this website, I was doing shadowing hours for a class at SFCC. The class I was shadowing would use it for a brain break, and to learn something during snack time. I then got it about a year later when I got a job at the same school during covid.      Go noodle has mainly is a website for educational and fun videos. Majority of the videos are musical, but have lots of information for your students to learn. I believe some are interactive for the class to decide what to watch next or something. There is a wide range of what type of videos are available, theres rap, dances, and cartoons. Its engaging not only for the kids, but for you too. It is a great addition to any classroom.

Image
In this post I will be discussing a website of my own interest. I heard about it from a tik tok video made from a teacher. This Website is Chalk.com you can use the link below to get to it.  https://app.chalk.com/auth/login     The teacher in the video stated that as an educator, on this website you can do everything. She seems just about right. You can lesson plan, assign curriculum, which allows you to present your lesson plan through this software. You have a calendar, resources for activities, etc. Each tab is very organized, and you have a lot of categories to choose from for more organization. Navigation of the page is quite simple and easy to follow, however I have not been able to try to create a lesson yet. This could be used for all the frameworks we have discussed, because it accounts for the teachers perspective, in planning and presenting information. But it also allow students to have access to their work, and their resources as well....

Image
In this post I will be discussing the technology Reflex Math, listed on the 30/118 List in Dr. Wang's powerpoint. Below you will find a link you can use to navigate to the software's website. https://www.reflexmath.com/     This software you have to pay for to use, there was a free trial option, however when I attempted to sign up for one, it took me only to a page with video demos. With that, it seems to be game mode math challenges. Upon trying to log on, it asked you what grades to look at, I chose K-3. The visuals seemed to be really student friendly and engaging. However it seems as though you only get to change the grade, all the activities seem to be preset. Which makes me think it is not ideal for planning, or designing lessons, nor would it be used to inform for a lesson. This website, would only be used for extra practice during the day or at home.

Image
In this post I will be discussing Blackboard, a technology from Dr. Wang's "Top 15 mentioned technologies in the classroom" List.           Blackboard seems to be very similar to Canvas. I believe this is the website my dad had to use when completing college courses online through the Army. It has your course and ways to sort/filter through them. It has Calendar, Messages, Grades, and a tab for assistance for your use. I played around with all the different tabs, but you also can learn through tutorials. In the grading tab its visually pleasing being organized by the class, then by the assignment. With each showing how many have submitted and have not.           It seems to have generated a fake class for me to try out in the free trial. In the grading tab it even had a spot labeled originality for their posts. Some students have a green check, others have an orange dash, and one student has a red x. I clicked on this stu...

Image
Sway         In this post I will be discussing Sway, my second choice from Dr. Wang's Microsoft vs Google list.            Sway is a microsoft technology that is used to create presentations, and it seems like other documents as well. The homepage seemed to give the same amount of options as google drive. I selected to do a presentation as if I was going to do a lesson, or as a student doing an assignment. It was a bit of a struggle to understand the layout. It has two tabs, "Storyline" and "Design". Storyline is where you add different parts, like your slides, texts and images. I struggled trying to understand how it was all going to look, and what I was really doing or editing. I had to swap back and forth between the two tabs, to see what was I was changing.           I may do an updated post, when I've completed something and understand it more. However with how confusing it was to navigate it,...

Image
Jamboard             In this post I will be discussing, Jamboard. A technology listed in Dr. Wang's Google vs Microsoft list.           Jamboard is connected to Google, just as your drive, blogger, etc. It a very simple layout, and simple use and tools. It seems like it is to be used almost like white board, or something to put sticky notes, and thoughts on to be shared all at once. You can have multiple "pages" and easily navigate through by clicking through the arrows next to the box showing you what page you are currently on, "1/3".           The tools are easy to follow and understand. First and foremost you have an option to change the background, some options give the feel of notebooks, then there are plain solid colors, and an image addition option as well.                    On the left side, you have a bar of tools to choose from....
